New painting alert!
I finally completed the sketch so I can start! I always do my sketches on the ipad, and then trace them onto a canvas.

This painting reimagines Aphrodite not as the goddess of love, but as a symbol of seductive control — a force that entices through beauty while sowing division beneath the surface. She is crowned not with flowers, but with gold circuitry and a glowing cell phone — her third eye, always watching. Her inviting gaze and outstretched hand offer the illusion of connection, choice, and intimacy — but they’re tools of distraction and distortion.

Set against an atmospheric background of deep reds and blues, the piece draws from the aesthetics of political duality and digital allure. Aphrodite is no longer just myth — she is the algorithm, the influencer, the screen we can't stop staring into.

This piece explores themes of manipulation, media saturation, and the danger of aestheticized control. It asks: what are we choosing, and who is choosing for us?
